can i get to college with English?

I've heard from a lot of people that it's really hard to get in to a good college if you only speak English. All the entrance exams are in Finnish and most of the lessons are taught in Finnish. I'm still in Lukio now, but I'm thinking about whether I should stay out of school for 1 year and go to a language school to learn Finnish. Can anyone give me some suggestions on this?

well as you know you cannot get into an university to study the bachelors degree without doing the entrance test* in finnish or swedish**, but then in english its all the polytechnics available and they're not all crap so => www.admissions.fi ...

*=to learn finnish to be able to read the ten books by heart in a year? ambition, I like that.

**=(or you can write laudaturs in long maths and physics and get into HUT or something)

A year spent learning Finnish...not worth it. You most probably won't attain the required level. And if you were going to spend a year learning a language, perhaps it would be better spent on something less...provincial.

Why not have a think about going to places where you can get into college with English.

go to a poly and then do a double degree say in Sheffield...

Of course it depends on what you want to study - for example you can get into Helsinki School of Economics on basis of your SAT scrores, but if business isn't what you're interested in then this doesn't really help..

Actually I am thinking about getting into Helsinki School of Economics. So this helped!
