how long this maksuhäriö will continue ?
2-5 years, depends on the case.

Change the title of your question: makSuhäiriö, not makuhäiriö. I thought that you have had a bad restaurant experience.

How long were you out of Finland for? I have trouble believing that you got a maksuhäiriö just for failing to pay a few bills while being away for a few months. It is quite difficult (and time-consuming) in the end to get one - you must really not want to pay, i.e. if you get bill reminders or even letters from the collection agency, that's not yet a maksuhäiriö. You need to get SUED to get one.

The above posters are correct, you cannot speed up the disappearance of your maksuhäiriö, which takes several years. Perhaps I'm adding insult to injury, but to get into this position "by accident" is quite an achievement and perhaps you should think ahead in the future before just hopping onto a plane. I hope this serves as a warning to others.

Further info on maksuhäiriö is available on the website of Suomen Asiakastieto that runs the credit data system in Finland:
http://www.asiakastieto.fi/en/yksityisi ... isille.jsp

Facts on how long the information will be saved in the records are here: http://www.asiakastieto.fi/en/yksityisi ... 6.jsp?l1=4
If your payment default entry is because on an unpaid bill for which the beneficiary has got a court order, the data will be kept on file for four years! Only if the payment default has resulted from a consumer credit the duration will be 2 years.

Now, once you have managed to get yourself into these credit data records, your life will become much more difficult. You will not be able to get a credit card, sometimes even renting a new flat will be impossible, and you can forget opening a subscription based mobile phone connection etc etc... Not to talk about that even some employers check the records for the employees they are considering to hire. Sorry for you, but as the earlier poster already said, this cannot have happened without your knowledge about it or not receiving any information of it! The payment must be at least 60 days behind the due date and you must have been notified in writing at least 21 days prior to recording of the neglect of payment... See details at http://www.asiakastieto.fi/en/yksityisi ... 4.jsp?l1=4.
