dear people, i'm confused again because my boss he told me something else today...


So, i'm from EU, i moved to Finland 1 month ago, i was to police to register and they give me 1 paper and they told me that i must to bring them the "work contract" to be registered like a permanent resident. In that time i hadn't a work contract but tomorrow i will have it finally. So? I must to go to police to register and they must to give me "certificate of registration of EU citizen's right of residence"...and after i will go to maistratti with this to receive a "certificate of domicile in Helsinki ans a social security number" but ... how much time i must to wait until the police will give'me that certificat ? and after how much time i must to wait from the maistratti to give me that certificate and the social security number ?
and how can i open a bank account ? can i have in this time and fast a temporary social security number ? my boss told me that i must to go with the contract to the helsinki tax office and they will give me a temporary social security number .. and i can open an account ?? it's true ? how can i have that social security number tomorrow because tomorrow we will sign the contract ??

sign the contract and go to the maistraatti to get your number, or you can go to the tax office to get a number that takes a few days, you'll be temporarily domiciled and you can get a bank account then, the police business you don't need to rush - after your probation period in your work contract is over... when you get yourself permanent remember to apply for a KELA card and also now when you start working pay to the unemployment fund www.ytk.fi

but once i have a temporary finnish security social number can i change'it in a permanent one ?

you get one number and that is you, theres a tickbox in the computer that says "NO", so once you have your police paper you go to the maistraatti a second time and ask them to curl your hair... I mean change the tickbox to say "YES"...
