it was actually the US cycling team.

Ah so.
I saw it on French TV so assumed they were French. BTW Sarko has decided to attend the opening ceremony while Carla meets the Dalai Lama in France. So that's sorted. I guess Sarko will have to take his mum to Beijing then....

Just to jump to the defense of the cyclists a bit...I know these guys are absolutely paranoid about picking up a respiratory infection... Pro cycling is all about VO2 Max...oxygen uptake and getting rid of lactic acid...
My guess is that it had more to do with the flight...we all know how healthy airplane flights are... But, perhaps, the pollution in Beijing is also an issue....though I don't really know about that...

Sounds like you're a veritable Don Quixote...P*ssing into the wind and all that...
So, if I were to say, "Whova Kanada!!"...I could expect a beating then...

Heja Sverige! in a Finnish bar while watching a Finland-Sweden hockey game. Now that's suicidal

Something wicked this way comes."

I dont forget, when someone is quiet just sitting i probably wont be able to tell where he/she is from (swe/fi/east ru/ge/de/no...) nor i care. But trying to cheer russians in pub what is full of finns or cheer finns in pub full of russians... mistake. Or try to go Tappara vs HIFK match and go in HIFK supporters and cheer tappara...
Got a point?

No need to escape, well if youre german in lapland you can wait some verbal abuse but just dont "stick out", you can be in "wrong" place just dont cheer "wrong" party, that will get you atleast stares

Thats what i have seen, seems icehockey is serious to some people, i couldnt care less.
