Helsinki Metro... in English
Helsinki Metro... in English
I found this amusing translation of the Stockholm Metro on the Swedish equivalent of this site.
http://www.thelocal.se/subway/map.html
Then I thought..Why not do one for Helsinki?
We have the advantage over th Swedes that we can translate from either the Finnish or the Swedish names.

Some are quite easy...Grassy Bay...Ferry Island..but Pasila/Böle??
Give it a try..if we finish the Metro we can start then on the M Line.

People do not become more irritable as they grow old - they simply stop making the effort to avoid annoying others.

It's been done, i nicked the image from here but don't have it anymore and can't find it by doing a search.
Someone will post it before the day is out.

Okay... a suggestion for the M line... the stops from South to North:
Iron Way Square (Rautatientori)
Basilham
Atmosworth
Felt Bay
North Hague
Folkthingy Hill
Ore Mountain
Molest Heights
Old Hagby
St-Martin-in-the-Valley
Vandal Rapids

I love your translation of Kannelmäkisammy wrote:

Lot better than Zither Hill..
Hank usualy refer to Myyrmäki as Ant Hill...but after his problems in the Myyrmani/Topari sausage queue he might have some less printable name for the area, similar to the local name for the hill you politely call Ore Mountain.
e.g. Paska Peaks. (OK I suppose "paska" has not yet joined "sauna" in the international dictionary..so...how about Turd Towers?)

Cape is a little tame for Hakaniemi. How about "Crotchet spit" instead?

Malminkartano ... how do you get mountain out of that? Kartano = manor?
Martindale sounds ok, there is one in Cumbria.

Others I had come up with that are different from yours were "Wairden" (Siuntio) and "Kirkmoor" (Kirkkonummi) and "Adlerwary" (Leppävaara) - failed to complete the set in time

Kirkmoor is far better.... and how about on the same lines... Aldertor ... Siuntio then again could be Sextonton but I was following Sjunde Å
