Kiitos Liverpool..Hyypia dumped "no longer wanted"

Post by sinikettu » Wed Sep 10, 2008 8:00 am

What a way to treat a guy who has played over 400 games.
Wait until just after the transfer window had closed.
After telling Stoke he was not for sale.
Then dump him from the Champions League squad.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/footbal ... 605682.stm
He sounds pretty angry..
"They didn't want me to move elsewhere, so that's why I was told the news of having been left out, just after the transfer window had closed!"

People do not become more irritable as they grow old - they simply stop making the effort to avoid annoying others.

All those games he's played are indicative of the problem - he's too old (moreover slow, for the CL).

But it could be great news - perhaps now with the Finn out of the picture YLE will stop showing that shower every CL match day and we might see more games that don't feature one team merely trying to grind the other down for ninety dour, painful minutes.

Fat chance, I know.

All the best for Finland against the evil Hun tonight. :beer_yum:

Without Canal+, streaming is the only option.
myp2p.com is mostly likely. With it being Germany, a helpful hun might even be streaming it direct from justin.tv.

Hyypiä should have decided to move once they bought Skertl. He's now fourth choice but still good enough to do a job for a far better team than Stoke.
Wouldn't be surprised to see him leave in January for the Bundesliga.

Of course, the real issue is that because Benitez has bought so many third-rate foreign players instead of second-rate British ones, the quota system for squads in the Champions League is starting to pinch almost as bad as his collars. Even Whinger managed to put together an Arsenal squad without leaving any major names out.

Hmmm, HS has this:
The match is being shown live on Canal+ and on The Voice/TV Viisi.
But I don't see it in The Voice schedules.

Scratch that, he's a liability and Stoke is just about his level.
At fault for two goals yesterday, very shaky performance.

Good game for the neutral though, stunning that they managed to lead three times against the Boxheads.

Equally stunning was England's 1-4 in Croatia, haven't seen any of it mind.

He said it reminded him of the Hungary game... way to motivate the troops right at the start of the campain, Sami!

Did you get a pint yesterday btw? They were selling Koff in the cafe underneath the main stand, but that may have just been psychological warfare against the 200-odd German reporters who were there.

The second goal was basic corner defending. They didnt have anyone on either post! Would have stopped the goal if they had.

There was nothing available at the d-stand, and I overheard some German fans wailing to some Finns that every ground in Germany sells beer for twenty cents a gallon or summat..
I'm not really a drinker, so didn't bother me.
Sneaky spliff in the carpark and I was mesmerised by the footy. :D

I had an extra ticket for the game last night, which I gave to a Spanish mate. He decided not to go as he'd have been sat on his own.
He's now gutted, the plum.

Surprisingly adept performance. Played posession football well, had a cutting edge in attack, lack of hoofing etc.
The second goal would be w*nked over if it was Argentina that scored it.
The only disappointment was Joke Hole acting like a big, duck-arsed tart after getting caressed by a Croatian.
Ten stitches? Bah! Poof!
