What kind of babysitting?
Our family uses 20e/night (thats common, one nice note and it was 100mk note :) ). But there is also point that babysitter is teen coming in family like cousin or so and job is mostly just being in there, childs are already in sleep. And as relative you "have" to help others out :)
Anyway 10e/h dont seem bad when its probably out of book, thats if need is random and you find someone to do that.
Strickly thinking "out of book" is illegal but random things like babysitting everyone does it.
Its like when our neighbour came with his tractor to pull some rocks and stubs out, we just paid and probably tax man never knew ;)

You can get properly trained one from Mannerheim Lasten Liito for 10 Euros an hour. This is the "on the book" rate.

I've recieved 8-11e /hour depending on where, how long and what kind of babysitting it is (and who is paying me...) :D

I also think it depends. If it is just for a few hours every now and again, between 9 and 11 euros an hour is fair. But if it's more regular and for longer hours i think the price should be higher so that you can attract a better quality person. Check their references too.

I was once offered 5 euros an hour to babysit a 6 month old for 4 days a week, approximately 7 hours a day. I couldn't believe that somebody would pay so little for such a big responsibility. And she didn't check my references either - didn't even ask for any. If you do it right, babysitting an awake baby, being responsible to feed her, clean up after her, get her off to sleep, play with her and comfort her, then the pay should be equal to the task.
