nintendo Game cube

Post by smilesalot » Sat Sep 20, 2008 9:58 pm

Anybody familiar with playing us version games on eu boxes, how about playing them on the nintendo Wii, or will one need modchip, or replay cd or freeloader.
Reason is my US version gamecube took a nosedive and wont turn on at all so I checked the ps and it had power so I have deduced its the box.

Any and all tips appreciated.

So your recommending buying from the US and shipping here, not buying a moded PAL gamecube or xbox to play US gamecube games.

Your wii will be able to play US gamecube games if you have CERTAIN modchips (not everyone works for import games), or if you have a wii freeloader. The freeloader will only work if you have firmware version 3.2 or earlier on your wii. Anything after 3.2 blocks the freeloader permanently.

Thanks for the tips

Unfortunately I dont have a Wii, I would be willing to buy one but Ill lay odds that most new Wii´s will have the latest version. If Im luckey then I would be willing to invest in freeloader or action replay.
I figured I can go shopping at Antillas or one of the other places and hopefully someone there will be friendly enough to let me check the versions.
Anybody know the cheapest place to buy Wii?

No just pointing out 1 option. Last nintendo I had was an N64, so can't advise on the other options.

Did you read the topic? Can you answer will a Finnish Wii play the US version games? with Gecko OS, twilight hack and SD
Without a guarentee ? Im not willing to invest over 300€ especially when its for kids under 12 who want to play their old NTSC nintendo games and the bigest bonus it only cost 60€ including shipping from Germany.

If and when there is a hack for the Wii then maybe Ill invest in that.

till then its Game Cube
