Pieni amerikkalainen ääriliike iloitsee Kauhajoen koulusurmista. Kansaslainen Westboron baptistikirkko lähetti tiistaina tiedotteen, jonka otsikko on "Jumala vihaa Suomea! Jumalalle kiitos yhdeksästä kuolleesta Kauhajoella!".

Liikkeen jäsenet aikovat tulla Suomeen osoittamaan mieltään Kauhajoen uhrien hautajaisiin.

Westboron baptistikirkon mukaan surmat ovat rangaistus vihaiselta Jumalalta, koska Suomi on "hylännyt Jumalan ja valinnut homot".

Liikkeen mukaan "Jumala lähetti ampujan rangaistukseksi Suomen synneistä".

Liike lähetti samanlaisen tiedotteen myös Jokelan koulusurmien jälkeen. Se on iloinnut myös muun muassa Kaakkois-Aasian tuhoisasta tsunamista.

Noin sadan hengen lahko tunnetaan äärivanhoillisista ja radikaaleista näkemyksistään ja erityisesti avoimen vihamielisestä suhtautumisesta homoihin. Se tunnetaan Yhdysvalloissa mielenosoituksista, joiden viesti on, että Jumala vihaa Amerikkaa.

Ryhmän jäsenet, joista suurin osa on liikkeen perustajan sukulaisia, käyvät häiriköimässä muun muassa sotilaiden hautajaisissa.

Liikkeen mukaan armeija on Yhdysvalloissa epäjumalan asemassa.

Viime vuonna Westboron baptistikirkko tuomittiin maksamaan seitsemän miljoonan euron vahingonkorvaukset Irakissa surmansa saaneen sotilaan omaisille, koska sen jäsenet häiriköivät osoittamalla mieltään sotilaan hautajaisissa.
