British embassy closed?

I tried to contact the embassy several times today but there is a recorded announcement that the embassy is closed. There doesn't seem to be anything on their website to indicate why they might be shut - does anyone know any particular reason why it would be closed on a "normal" weekday?

Perhaps it's that quaint English retail habit, "Thursday half-day closing".

Well, I tried in the morning, and again in the afternoon.
This morning it seems to be open, at least I am listening to their stupid automated phone recordings...

Hmm... Maybe Britain has cut diplomatic relations with Finland... War ?

I was just there this past week...they aren't closed, but they only take phone calls in the morning.
