Carpenter/Painter looking for work
journeyman carpenter and painter looking for work either with a company (I only speak english), or doing solo jobs. If you need anything nailed, screwed, plastered or painted..well, you get the idea

Re: Carpenter/Painter looking for work
I need to attach two lamps to the ceiling...
I am considering inviting electrician,
which would cost 50e/hour (I guess one hour should be enough).
If you could attach the two lamps for smaller price, that would be fine...
I live in Lauttasaari

Re: Carpenter/Painter looking for work
How many sq. meters and is it a cement wall or gypsum? old finnish buildings are notorious for needing some spack'ling(the cement type walls) if you want it flat. but yeah, its not a problem. give me a little info...

if its concrete walls a steamer from ramirent is worth the price... did over a weekend a three-room flat which had nasty plastic 70's paper in places...
oh and as far as crappy walls go, glassfibre works wonders though it needs two guys and a knack of how thirsty the walls are.(comes cheaper than 3 layers + drying of spackle + the 15 layers of paint on a chickedropping wall)
and you forgot the sawdust & splinters pressboard walls...

Also take note that in typical Finnish overkill fashion, awhile ago some wallpaper installers decided to mix the wallpaper paste with white glue to improve the paste and if thats the case you can pretty well conclude that the wallpaper is part of the wall and plastering is required. Then after plastering a few blisters will appear and they will require patching. Yes, a nightmare. When removing the wallpaper, it won't take you long realize if this is the case.

Re: Carpenter/Painter looking for work
I redid all my 65m2 with glassfibre and haven't regretted.. a few places bubbled, but made the mistake of wallpapering my cottage... lets say never look at the walls in a sidelight...
and then we can also discuss the issue of "dropping cielings" of the standard sprayded covering.... oil paint. period.

Re: Carpenter/Painter looking for work
no worries, theres people who "think" and then wonder why it is so expensive... its for good reasons.
I've done a few remodellings with my electric plumbing nephew... we make a wicked glassfibre team... though he dropped his cieling even I told him don't get cheap with the latex...
