well "Tankki täyteen" (Fill her up?) from 1980 would be a bit close enough... its a sitcom with a gas station left on the old road when the highway comes, a dad who makes investments "which I got cheap", the mom riding him of being a businessman, a "grownup son" and the village constable "Reinikainen" who then got a spinoff when he moves from the village to the big city of Tampere (being a comedy police series).... can't be that alien as its of of Neil Hardwick's works...

Reinikainen is a classy one as it plays with the local "tampere city" vs. "hick village" dialects and attitudes...
