Where to buy? Where can I find? How do I? Getting started.

is salvo a recycling centre? well... 50/60 they tend to know the price of valuable stuff, but I've bought most of my furnitures from fleamarkets and "antiques" shops sell the same stuff with a huge ripoff price.. depends on your luck and what exactly you want.

Okay so I'm a stingy student. Sue me.
Funny thing that, I saw "as new" Ikea goods for sale at a second hand place here. Prices were higher than you'd pay at Ikea.

Most second hand places are a rip off here, except when uff has their sale on
But you can always try here.

Hi people! Does anyone know by chance if IKEA open on Sundays? In the web page It is written something like " Su 12-19 (Lounaalle ja näyttelykierrokselle pääsee jo klo 11) " But I don't know what it means and I don't want to go there and find it closed because I've to get there by bus...
Kiitos for the answer...

Ikeas, like all other shops, (except small groceries) are closed on Sundays until the end of October. All shops can be open on Sundays only May - August and November - December.

The text means Sundays 12-19 (you can get to lunch and the exhibition already at 11).

Free buses on Saturdays:
ESPOO:
KIASMA - ESPOO
10, 12, 14, 16

VANTAA:

Beware: on Saturdays Ikea is often packed with whole families of customers.
If you need to have some peace to evaluate your purchases, visit Ikea on a different day 8)

Yeah, and for some reason, after only having lived here for a couple of years, I always run into people I know there.... :?

Not true. You can go to the hire desk beforehand, tell them you want a van and how long you'll be (they'll put the keys aside for you for approx. 30-45 minutes ONLY, so you have to know what you want and go to it directly, no shopping around). After you've paid for your purchases, you go back to the desk and get the van keys.

We have used the delivery by Ikea a few times and the van hire once. Would recommend delivery for huge lots (we got a whole kitchen delivered) that are a pain in the a$$ to carry yourself or that will take a long time to unload. Van hire for the rest if you live locally and can drive home, unload and drive back within the two hours or however long it is.
