Bit of a long shot, this, but....
It's the Sheffield derby on Sunday, and it's on Viasat. I would love to watch it with fellow wednesdayites, or even one of them, so does anybody know any who would be up for watching this?

Was the game broadcast on viasat in the end? I checked the listings and it didn't appear to be on.
I have a passing interest in the Blades (sorry!).

Gahahahahaha. Hahahahahahahaha. Hahahahahahahahahahahaa.
In the face of your passing interest. It was on Viasat football, whatever that is. Only Swedish commentary so I was only allowed one telly with the commentary, but that was a very sweet victory.

What the hell is Viasat Football? I thought it was Viasat 1 (general sports) 2 (usually football), 3 (usually boxing) and a whole channel devoted to g*lf.
Pah. I raise my foot Kilgallon-like in the direction of your smug face.

I dunno, I hadn't seen it before either. Was a little bit worried at 3pm when I was flicking through and couldn't find the game, there was 2 and 3 together but 'football' (which must be Viasat 1, really) was a few channels along.Chris Beresford wrote:What the hell is Viasat Football? Re: Wednesday or United fans?
A muddy trundle lacking in creativity for the most part, but given the time of year it was pretty much what I was expecting. TeePee scored twice within the space of a couple of minutes around the hour mark; the first goal came from a freekick on the edge of the box, a great ground-level strike that curled around the VIFK wall and through a flurry of swinging legs and beyond the grasp of the VIFK keeper. Tornio's coach Oleg Eprintsev subsequently disappeared underneath a pile of jublilant bodies, the Russian having to endure it all over again when Mikko Barsk made it 2-0 three minutes later.
It was rather disconcerting to spot VIFK staff shopping in Haaparanta's IKEA prior to the game (I was in there buying a new frying pan). Still, the Vasa massive will have had the opportunity to dry their tears on reasonably priced bangladesh-sourced fabrics on the long journey home. The attendance (861) was rather impressive, with the relegation decider attracting a large number of VIFK and VPS supporters to the Pohjan Stadion - certainly more than I'd envisaged.
