FA Cup live on Urheilukanava

Post by Chris Beresford » Tue Oct 21, 2008 11:12 am

Following hard on the heels of their England-Kazakhstan broadcast, the channel appears to have nabbed all of YLE's England-based football content by securing rights to the FA Cup:

In contrast to YLE's apparent lack of interest in the competition until the big boys get involved, Urheilukanava have left spaces in their schedule to show matches from the very first round, which will please those of you who don't have access to viasat.

Thanks for the post!
The roundest knight at King Arthur's round table was Sir Cumference. He acquired his size from too much pi.

This is the Watford currently placed 16th in the Championship? They wouldn't stand a chance against a team holding such a lofty position as 13th... :D

I was one year old in '84, but the city remembers well. Practically the entire town was ready to migrate to Wembley if they made it to the final. They'll have their chance this season though, I'm sure!

John; Birmingham? The clean air over here must be affecting your brain if you think they stand a hope!

It's West Ham's cup (if we are still in existance come May!)

Is this channel available in the Canal Digital package? If not where can you find it?

Channel 11 for me on the normal digibox.

I'd say Arsenal for the cup but Chubby Poacher will just step in with a snide comment so i'll just say the Spuds won't win it. :D

First date for your diaries (probably subject to change):

Urheilukanava:
FA Cup 1st Round
Saturday 8th November (coverage from 1825)

Obviously the draw hasn't been made yet, but it'd be a welcome development to hear Tuomas Virkkunen covering a game like Sutton United versus Grimsby.

Ah yes, I forgot it's my fault your kiddies have flattered to underachieve these past few years.
