Post by raamv » Wed Oct 22, 2008 11:48 pm

Hi all,
Anyone know any ANY insurance company of dealer or anyone that covers Insurance for Technical problems with cars like
Battery breakdown
Motor breakdown
ctalytic convertor failure etc
poewrtrain warranty is something used in the US but not here ( covers transmission and motor)
Never seen anyone covering this kind of insurance..but in case someone knows please do post here..
( I know that KIA has a long warranty and Toyota has a pact with Tapiola for longer coverage and Ford gives some extended warranty..)
These are things that no one tells you..but someone knows..

Täyskasko is for most of accidents, and if it has Keskeyttämisvakuutus you get rental car.
You have to ask on companies what täyskasko really covers.

I can't seem to find anyone willing to sell those insurances alone in finland, but if you take loan for car ( f.ex. http://www.alphera.com/fi/lisatakuu.html ) you can get additional guarantee, which is provided by foreign firm ( http://www.svenskbilgaranti.com/ ).

Tayskasko or peruskasko dont cover anything like I asked. they cover only in case of accidents but not any technical problem...
I posted it here cos I ve been trying to find this info from many sources for some time and its not easy to get this information out.
For e.g. One specialist (that Ive not spoken to yet indicated ) said that autopalvelu should cover this but None of the insurance companies' autopalvelu coverr anything like this ( cept hinnnaus or towing).
