bright light bulbs

When i arrived here 3 month ago it was still sunny, so when i biught those energy savers light bulbs i didn't see any problem with them
now that it's dark almost all day those light bulbs are realy a pain, they are not bright white, they are yellow although i tried to get the higher watts
iremeber back home we had those energy savers in bright white light.
I wonder why people would prefer those yellow energy savers and then go buy a 300€ bright light thing to fix the effects of darkness and yellow light at home

when you go buy bulbs they have different K ratings and give different spectrum
