prepaid- GoMobile vs. dna

Post by tintinandsnowy » Sun Oct 26, 2008 8:16 pm

Has anyone had experiences with or would like to offer opinions about either GoMobile prepaid or dna Arvo (also prepaid subscription)? Which one is better? GoMobile looks cheaper...

Mainly I need it to activate laundry machines and, of course, talk to human beings in Finland. Only occasionally do I use the cell to make international calls.

Hi there,
I think you better go for Dna Arvo prepaid.I have used GoMobile,Kolumbus,Sonera and Dna.The best of all those is Dna,you can use it abroad, call tariffs about the same with the other networks
By the way I think if you get a contract it will be cheaper for you to use.I have a contract with dna and i pay 0.06 for calls and texts, but also I have to pay 3.95 per moth

Problem with prepaid is that you have to buy new credits from time to time to keep your card active, even if you haven't used your old credits.

That's true, but I think a prepaid might be more convenient because I most likely won't be here more than 1 year.

I've got dna Arvo and am very happy with it. It's 0,069 Euro for texts and phone calls/min., and of course there's no monthly fee. My boyfriend has the same rate for text and calls but because he's got a contract he also pays a (very small) monthly fee, so I don't see what's the benefit of having a contract (he got the phone on top of it, that's why he chose the contract-version).

Topping dna up is very easy (as opposed to Saunalahti prepaid, at least at the time that I changed to dna), you can do it via the internet as well as at cashpoints or at the newsagents.

I'm not using my phone very much, mainly for sending text messages but also that not excessively, and I never had to top it up solely for the sake of keeping the credit active, so I don't think that this is a very imminent "problem" if you're choosing prepaid and are planning to use it at least once every 6months or so?

Don't have experiences with GoMobile, but at least I'm not motivated to look for something else as DnaArvo is very convenient for me. Actually, I read somewhere recently that they have a special offer for DnaArvo at the moment, with the starter package costing 5 Euro instead of the 10 euro, and you still get the full 10 euro credit with it.

Prepay or postpay, that is the question. Imagine that your mobile plan is a restaurant, then imagine restaurant where you pay before you get your order (McD) and then imagine restaurant where you pay after you have dined... :)
That is the difference.
