English stuff in Stockholm....(wrights and pork pies"!!!)
found this in Stockholm....(yes, it's FINLAND Forum but...)
http://www.englishshop.se/
I didn't do much of a price check but it seemed cheaper than that one in Helsinki. They even had Christmas puds, yorkshire puds, pork pies and wrights pies and the usual, Walkers crisps, jams...biscuits....etc
They also had books, and other Englishy/English speaking things...football stuff, mugs made in Stoke (Waaaaheeeeeyy).
They ship internationally too!

I bought up big when i was there last month - the boys especially appreciated the Crunchie bars
Did you check out the food hall underneath? I had the BEST mushroom soup i've ever had in my entire life from one of those shops in the food hall. It was AMAZING! A very nice tea shop down there too. And a whole cafe that serves only organic.
YUM!!!

No - I was a bit tired (stupid Converse All-Stars) so decided to head back...
Actually noticed that the Swedes are really into their organic, no-sugar, no-preservatives stuff, gluten free - Their little supermarkets were full of good stuff...bags of nuts, fruits, high % chocolate....I found an excellent cafe that also sold all these jams, sauces etc all natural stuff. It was some company from North Carolina. I reminded myself a hundred times to get a flyer but bloody forgot!
I'll try and dig it out...If I can remember the cafe's name.
Have to say that the food was pricey but quality and preperation was very good. I am always happy to pay for quality. As someone said on another thread "I've never been rich enough to buy rubbish" (or something similiar).
After gorging myself for a few days I am now back to a spartan lifestlye.

Thanks SO much for this tip, I will definitely check it out when I'm there next (the cafe sounds fab too). Must find out what the postage is like to have stuff sent to Helsinki. Cheers.

No worries....
I can't remember the name of the cafe...but it's on....Skeppsbron...the hostel I was in was number 22 and the cafe was like 5 seconds walk from the hostel towards Sodermalm...Easy to find.
I think the prices where cheaper in the English shop but I am not sure though.

I'd be absolutely banned from the sci-fi bookstore in old town...

Found that place! There was a kick ass pirate book and a Zombie game and Love and Rockets comics and some dvds I wanted and some magazines and...and...and...and....hahaha...waaaahoooo for dorky things.
Actually didnt pick up much cos I only had a small backpack. But it was a nice little shop (with a comic shop around the corner, a record shop near by and an antique shop selling nautical stuff!!!) I actually noticed that the English books etc were cheaper than Finland - or it seemed that way...Better still to buy from Play or Amazon...but the prices weren't bad at all.
