Nice one Magic, keep living the dream mate.
I'd like to live the dream too, I just need a good soundtrack to really make the movie of my life...

Magic, good to hear a positive story, glad you're enjoying it
penelope wrote:That looks really good. Will definitely bookmark that page. We have a double hulled canoe at the mökki that easily fits 3 + dog and then a two man lightweight speedy thing (you get very wet). Maybe something we could do with the kids.
Yep, bookmarked here also. Hope to give that one a go next year (if they have one, page still has 2008 details only?). Will do it in a kayak, unless 14 people from here would like to get together and row a church boat?

Fair play, good to read! I'm in a similar situation, moved here just over a year ago from Brighton, pissed off about the state of the UK at present, needed a change and the fact I am half Finnish kinda dictated to where i shall move. Learning the language, found a lovely girlfriend, loving the mokki and the peace, doing an IB degree and looking forward to my second christmas.Good times.

Haven't moved yet, but I'm really looking forward to spending much more time splashing around our summer place lake in a kayak too. I'm also so excited for winters in Finland. Dark and -20C? Oooo, heaven!
I'm also excited that the grocery stores stock just about everything I consider normal kitchen supplies. The milk actually thickens when heated for sauce. You can get Philly cream cheese! TV isn't dubbed! People don't try to be randomly social, but have so many great hobbies, like dance and volleyball! The book stores rocks!
*ahem*
