Just go down to the meat market and order one. You will have to prepay but it will be there in about 1 week to ten days. :lightbulb:

There's a turkey farm in piikkiö (20km from Turku) that has a farm shop. Even though it sounds a bit strange their smoked turkeys are very nice.

How was the smoked turkey? I saw those at Stockmann last year when I bought the "normal" kind and thought it sounded good. The smoked ones were in the freezer next to the other ones. Did you just thaw it and serve or what does it take to prepare a smoked one and how is the taste? I think I might try it this year.

They are difficult to hold between your fingers and hard to light, but nevertheless satisfying if you can manage to smoke it.

And I have seen it before in Stockmann, and I think Citymarket.

Regarding whole frozen turkeys, in recent years most larger grocery stores have them mid to late November. i've bought them at Euromarket and Prisma in recent years in Kotka. I would guess they will have them in the Turku area too. Check in a few weeks.

They were giving thanks for good food and lots of alcohol. but I got to admit the eggnog I made was not a big hit. I didn't even like it. not enough alcohol.
