I'm coming to Finland for the holiday season and I want to try snowmobiling. I will be staying with family in Helsinki. Would be willing to drive max 4 hours up north and snowmobile for probably 2 hours with or without a guide. Can you recommend a good place for rental? the cheaper the better!
Thanks!
ps. what's the snow situation in Helsinki and surrounding areas right now? Can you go sledding/cross country skiing yet?

Id say take train/airplane to north, rovaniemi, kemijärvi and kittilä would be best places, if you want experience snowmobiling.
Look Levi, Ruka and Pyhä in google, those are biggest winter centers. about 800km or more from helsinki tho.
Thats real experience.

Not altogether true. We are just over 3 hours drive from Helsinki.
See snow map here:

We were planning snowmobiling just this last week, however we were just 5cm short of the required minimum snow depth (about a foot needed).
