if a realtive from abroad wants to put money into my bank acc here in finland what do i need to give them?just bank acc no and name of bank,sort code??

Just a warning. And just in case you didn't know it already.

For Vero, gifts of more than 4000e from the same donor in a three year period are taxable. Single gifts of more than 4000e must be declared within 3 months of receipt. The actual rate applied depends on the family relationship between the donor and the recipient. I think you can assume the banks submit the info to the tax authorities.

There is a pdf file you can download from the www.vero.fi website concerning gifts.
