Looking for a technical job. (I speak English/Dutch/German)
Hello,
At this moment I work as a account manager for a world wide operating company in automatic entrance solutions.
I am looking for a (preferably) technical job in Finland where English or German can be used since my Finnish is not any good yet. I speak Dutch, English and German.
My main tasks at the moment are:
To advise customers and end-users on automatic door systems, security door systems
fire resistant door systems and escape route doors according to the European regulations
To be a team leader for the North-Holland sales team consisting of account managers, inside sales and
installation work preparation personnel
To make quotations and to follow up quotations
To look for new customers and new markets
To be in active contact (in German and English) with Swiss and German factories concerning the technical details
of the wide product selection
To read floor plans and technical drawings of buildings and building structures
Coordinate and supervise building and renovation projects concerning the use of our products
To deliver the ready project to the end-user
Account management
Please feel free to contact me for more information or a possible position.
Kind regards,
Herman

May we ask what your reason is for finding a job in Finland, of all places?

The reason is that I married a Fin and after six years living in The Netherlands we are planning to move to Finland.karel wrote:May we ask what your reason is for finding a job in Finland, of all places?

Heh... I should've known...
Welkom
Did you check the sites mentioned elsewhere on this forum?
http://www.mol.fi, http://www.aarresaari.net, http://www.uranus.fi, etc. etc.?
It might be a bit better here regarding jobs than in Holland, but your minus is the lack of Finnish.
I guess your best bet is multinationals like Nokia or HP. But they're even laying off people so you're timing isn't really perfect.

It seems that there are always a bunch of technical jobs available at the nuclear power plant in Eurojoki but then there's no place to live there.
Socialism has never managed to create anything beyond corpses, poverty and oppression.

Your expertise might be needed at KONE. The firm is the fourth largest manufacturer of elevators worldwide, a leading manufacturer of escalators, and also provides maintenance services and modernization solutions. In addition, Kone builds and services automatic doors and gates. KONE is headquartered in Espoo.
As it is a global company you probably don't even need to know how to speak finnish and your language skills of dutch and german are great assets as it has offices in Nederlands, Germany and Belgium (and in many other places as well).
Check them out at www.KONE.com

Re: Looking for a technical job. (I speak English/Dutch/German)
A year ago or so KONE laid off a large amount of people in Germany. (they might even have closed a factory)
If they have a place, you'll be probably sent to Germany or Holland.
Without Finnish, your experience is not very valuable in contact with Finnish customers.
