Pavilion dv6000 s-video connection to TV problems
I have a Pavilion dv6000 laptop, with nVidia Geforce video card, and an s-video connector. I connected it up to my TV (scart), via scart/s-video cable, made all the recommended Display set up adjustments, and still, all I get is evidence the signal is reaching the TV but just see white fuzzy horizontal lines flashing on the TV. Any recommendations?

Check what format your PC is set to output: PAL or NTSC?

Thanks! But what cable shoud I buy, scart/s-video or scart/VGA? The TV is a fairly old analog one, thus I guess should be scart/s-video cord.

I went through same thing with Pavilion DV6000 & SONY LCD projector tv a couple of years ago, BUT theTV had S-Video and VGA input ports !
Finally got it to work after getting latest driver updates for the graphics card that worked with Vista and found the correct resolution settings for the output from the graphics card. S-video worked but quality was not really good enough for daily use - VGA was really good.
HOWEVER in your case if your TV is the old 'tube' type I dont think you will get it to work as the TV cant handle the output from the graphics card.
You should probably search some of the Forums related to this eg http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/index.php

Well, If you already have a SCART input, then the standards are set.
If you have a DVI output from the card, it could be much easier..then you get a DVI ( -D or -A) to a SCART adapter which then solves interoperability..
S-video is tricky as it involves converting video interlacing and Horizontal frequency adjustments..
