The front door got left open this morning and our cat has wandered off.
I have posted a picture with the word missing plus the date / time and my contact details through all the people this block of flat's doors, I do not know the contact details of the place which picks up displaced cats, could someone please help?
I'd be gutted if we don't get our cat back (and so will the girlfriend).
She's an indoor cat, so the theory is someone either stole her (unlikely as she's not pedegree), handed her into the pound or let our out the front door of the block of flats, and she's hiding somewhere nearby.

Yup. If kitty is not in the pictures, call them. They might have it already, or if not you can give them heads up.

At least Hank's posts are helpful even if they are condescending, you've managed to be both unhelpful and condescending.

I guess you've tried it already, but if your cat's still in the house, trying to lure her with some goodies?
I know our cats would come running for some catnip.
Or at least be at the door around food time.
If she managed to stray out of the house, though, I don't know what else to do but check the local shelters.
Good luck!
I hope you find her!

well cybertiger, no offence intended in my posts, just sharing some thoughts. in summertime, we had a similar case. we had a frequent visitor, so we thought it was abandoned and decided to adopt if that was the case but we found there was some contact details and the name of the cat in its neckband, so we called the number and turned out.... that cat had been outdoor
ish .

what you might want to do is post a flier also at the local store noticeboard (they usually have one) in case the kitty's gone a bit farther.

For future consideration: a microchip.
A neck band might not me the most permanent solution. If someone wants your cat and takes of the collar, you have no way to proof she's your cat.

Flier posted on all the houses in a 100m radius and the local supermarket.
Random people walking dogs stopped in the street.
Should we get the cat back a microchip will probably be used.
In our apartment block the front door is too heavy for a cat to push, and it is a double door, so even though I left the front door open she should not have been able to leave the building, which goes some way to explaining why she does not wear a collar with contact details in. (When we take her to the summer cottage she does wear said collar).
She's like one of the family to us and we are very upset.
Thanks to the people who have been helpful.

Maybe the cat is dead like your sense of humour?

Last summer I was minding my friends' cat and she ran away after a few weeks. She was gone for three days. We had posters all around the island but it eventually came back during the third night she was gone. So keep hoping! Your cat might turn up in the middle of the night cos she's hungry!

Its winter, its cold, afaik cats like to chill in warm places... so it might good to check around cars, especially those that are still warm.
