Just arrived after spending 2 years in Mexico. I have 3 boys 10,8 and 4 yrs. I am originally from England,Kent. I had lots of friends in Mexico from all over the world and would like to have afew adult conversations as the children are now at school. I have travelled around the world and have taught pil ates in Mexico . Looking forward to meeting some interesting people. E-mail sharon.sagiv@hotmail.com

Hello where are you ?? Helsinki,Vantaa ,Espoo or what??? We have a event coming up this Friday and it would be a chance for your kids to have a great time while you sit and have a coffee and speak with other mums and dads

You might want to consider joining the BWA (British Women's Assoc). They meet for coffee in the GB embassy once a month and organise various trips, visits (factory shops, museums and galleries etc etc etc) and some evening events too. Most of the members are expat WAGS and there are a few more permanent members too. It might sound dire but I enjoyed it when I was a member and I met lots of other families living in the Helsinki area. Now I have a job so don't belong to the assoc but I am still friends with a few people I met there.

In order to attend one of the coffee mornings you need to sign up with a member. I'm pretty sure there are plenty of mums at the international school and probably a few on here.

PS: it is actually a very international association, you don't have to be British to join.

Does the BWA still exist? We have been trying to get in touch with them to get information and we haven't had luck. Their website (as of last Fall) is outdated and now seems to be taken down. Please PM me with a contact name. I would appreciate it!

I think it does. Several years ago I was on the committee but then I started working again and lost touch. But I believe there are still regular meetings (coffee mornings) at the embassy, used to be the 1st Tuesday in the month. Due to security reasons you have to be invited by a member (I am not one). I will PM you with the contact details of a member who might be able to give you some more information.
