crushed nuts for the base?
thats such a feminist recipe
You truely are a very, very bitter man!

Yeah nuts, that would work...Any recipes for that?

Pavlova...haven't had one for years...all eggs I think! That would work too.
Gaah Hank, methinks you need some softening up ;)

And I'd just crush some hazelnuts and cover the bottom of the pan with them, but I'm
lazy :D My friends have made versions where they basically make a base of crushed nuts
and butter, which wasn't bad, but if the cheesecake is rich enough, I think the
base can be simpler and less rich.

Ah, I got inspired and googled some bases now for you :)

The reason I use hazelnuts by the way is that they are the only nuts
my kids don't devour within seconds of them showing up in the house,
so feel free to sub other nuts ;)

My pleasure! :D And cashews rarely make the bus trip home
with my kids, so let me know how the base turns out with
them :)

Of course, a cheesecake can be made without the base at all but it's just not the same! :)
I was wondering when you would post! :D

Yeps - that's the recipe we have but damn it...I want a base! I think even the bible says cheesecakes have bases, I swear on it!

We're gonna try later in the week. I'll let you now how it goes. Think we'll try nuts and minimum butter for a binding type thing.

(I don't like the idea of sweeteners, too unnatural, worries me those type of things do).

No idea about the sweetener as I have some stevia that I brought
back about a gazillion years ago from the States. And horror of horrors,
but I'm not really keen on sweet things, so it helps avoid the sweetener
issue :D My junk food tends to limit itself to salt, salt, grease, salt. :)
