Same thing with Ben & Jerry's here. While in the States and in the UK it's mannah from heaven, for some reason in Finland it tastes like crap (based on a cone from the stand in Kamppi). Dunno why (maybe it's old? Maybe it comes from a different factory where they use inferior quality ingredients?), but if I'm paying 5+ euros for a pint of ice cream, it better taste amazing.Pete wrote:Tasted the locally available M&M's today and didn't rate them at all, they just don't taste as good as they should.
Not sure why though...

Do these things get made differently for different markets?
I know ciggies do and I believe a lot of food stuffs do...
I heard the McD burgers in Japan were smaller cos they have smaller hands but I couldnt tell the difference, but I was told this by an American and maybe the UK size is the same as the Japo one...dunno...

Could be something as simple as the thing with Coke in different markets. (Whether it’s sweetened with cane sugar or corn syrup...) Companies often go with the cheapest suitable local “alternative” if they think they can get away with it without diluting the brand too much.Bubba Elvis XIV wrote:Do these things get made differently for different markets?

Pepsi & coke seems to taste less sweet here than in the UK, but I could be imagining it.
