Shops for matryoshka dolls

Post by Bubba Elvis XIV » Fri Feb 27, 2009 8:05 pm

Anyone know of any shops that sell matryoshka dolls....Not just one or 2 but a good selection.

In the Helsinki, Tampere, Turku area...or areas between Turku -> Tampere / Helsinki.

Well the only one I remember offhand selling stuff like that is across from the Russian Embassy on Tehtaankatu. Its by the tram stop on the "trade consulate end". Other than that Tallinn harbor is loaded with them.

There are several Russian souvenir shops in Helsinki, in all the touristy places. One on the corner of Sofiankatu I think and one right inside Kiselef (?) house on Senate Square that has masses. Another one down behind the Sugar Cube somewhere in an old red-brick warehouse building. Probably a few more around Uspenski and I remember seeing one near the Tempeliaukio (?) Rock Church and one on Mannerheimintie opposite the Ooppera.
