Hmmm... haven't tasted those, but if they're revolting enough should cure me for cravings for any munchies...

(OTOH I would be interested to know how they manage to grow maize in Finland. The only corn I have ever seen growing up here was for cattle fodder. Global warming? Maybe Finland will soon be self-sufficient in tortillas and cornflakes)
I know from mother's garden that in principle it is possible to grow corn in Finland, but I'm pretty sure nobody does it commercially. Considering the low specific weight of the final product it is easy to believe that the price of the raw material is minimal fraction of the price of the final product, so it does not matter if it comes from Mexico or where ever.

FAQ page of the "keyflag society" - how much do you think they produce in Finland the basic raw material for the product they have decided to use as an illustration on the page? :)

Somewhere between 60 and 70%. Milk chocolate is mostly milk and sugar and, as it says, around 30% cocoa solids. Both milk and sugar are produced here.

Ingredients: Milk, sugar, cocoa butter, cocoa mass, emulsifier (soya lecithin), salt, flavorings (vanilla, vanillin). Cocoa solids 30% minimum and milk solids 20% minimum.

No, you are not the only one. But it seems like eeeeeverybody here (in Finland) is feeding that to their babies and raving about how a great snack it is. And not only to babies, but to toddlers and even older kids too. I see it as processed... um... non-food ("crap" is actually what I think about it), and in addition I really don't think it is a good idea to teach children to constantly snack (and especially on pure carbohydrates).

To OP: We don't have any baby biscuits here, and with that I don't mean only brands, but the whole concept of special biscuits for babies is foreign. But you could always make them yourself, I have seen online recipes. (Some Googling later...) For instance here are several: http://wholesomebabyfood.com/teethingbiscuits.htm

THAT IS A GREAT WEBSITE!

We had / still have unsalted rice cakes. You can buy them in most super markets.

After 1 year I also gave them the corn snacks already mentioned (this late because corn might cause allergies).

Good source for baby food is the
ekokauppa near kamppi.

They also have baby biscuits (as far as I remember).

(OK I know I sound like I'm on a mission.... we have diabetes in our family (my father-in-law was a diabetic and my husband was told he would probably be diabetic by the time he reaches 50).... it is over-taking even allergies as the pandemic of the 21st century, and there is still no cure.)

In the link from CH I saw an advertisement of Baby Safe Feeder, aka nibbler. It seems is should be good for teething problem, but I have never seen it in Finland. In the US Toys R Us sells this gadget, so does anyone know if the store in Vantaa has it also available? Or maybe any other shop in the capital area?

From the ad....At what age would a baby need the BABY SAFE FEEDER and what can I put in it? From about 4 or 5 months old when a babies gums are sore, until approximately 22 months, they love frozen grapes, frozen chunks of melon, cold fruit, cold raw carrot etc. soothes teething pain.
