I'm mildly embarrassed to ask about this lest I'm suspected of being the kind of person who wears gold chains or has a gold plated mobile, but does anyone know of somewhere in Helsinki offering a high quality gold plating service?

Just so you know, gold plated toilet seats are really cold in the Finnish winters. :lol:

It is much better to gold plate your @rse, then you do not need to gold plate each toilet you sit on!
With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine.
