EU Citizens to VOTE FINNISH CANDIDATES need to REGISTER now
The right of citizens of other EU Member States to vote in Finland
A citizen of another Member State of the EU living in Finland may choose vote in the European Elections in Finland. This requires, however, that he or she enrolls with the voting register in Finland. When a person has been entered in the voting register in Finland, the Finnish authority will notify the relevant authority in his or her home state of the registration, and he or she will be removed from the electoral register of this state. According to the EU Elections Act no one may vote in more than one Member State of the European Union in the same election. EU citizens may vote either in their home state or in the state they live in.
The possibilities for citizens of other EU Member States to vote and be candidates in the European Elections in Finland 7 June 2009. Notification to the local register office by 19 March 2009.
In short - if you are a limey and wish to vote for BNP, don't do anything except what the UK tells you to do. If you have gone native and want to vote for the True Finns, and haven't voted before in Finland - you need to register.

Yes, that would be good idea: as a foreigner voting for the true finns, register immediately
I am not gone vote anyhow for those EU pocketfillers, there is no democracy if they do not listen to the voice of the people (EU peruslaki!) If you say no, we just try it again after a few years, untill you say yes.

I think if you are resident (if you have an ID number and a permanent address and you are an EU national) then you "should" have received the paperwork through the post already. I got mine a few weeks ago.
Otherwise, yes, you need to register tomorrow.
Does anyone know if the lists of candidates have been published yet?

Finns are pretty good at this though, aren't they? 14 of them elected from here (compared to 6 from my home region with a similar population), and there's Vatanen with his snout in the trough too. Is it likely any of the reps will change this time, or will it be the same again? Did Soini get away with his plan to stand so he could get one of his village idiots elected? Who is the best celebrity standing this time?

A mixture of Greens, Liberals, Socialists and Christians.
Time for a refreshing change perhaps.
