Intercultural Family Training

Post by Duo » Fri Mar 20, 2009 1:10 pm

When parents from different cultural backgrounds bring up a child together, two parenting styles as well as two cultures will combine. Participating in Duo Project's complementary family training group can help you and your partner to better understand how to create a strong intercultural family identity. You will also meet other couples who share the same situation and have an opportunity to exchange opinions and experiences as well as get new insights and ideas for your everyday life.

Duo Project's family training group is for expecting intercultural couples and parents of a newborn baby. The group is confidential and free of charge. The language of the group will be confirmed later but the language is either English or Finnish depending on the background of the couples. The group completes the normal birth preparation classes offered by the municipal services. However it is not a substitute for them.
