Shipping stuff Finland -> UK

Post by Meri-Tuuli » Sat Mar 14, 2009 1:46 pm

So my time in the motherland is up (I'm half Finnish, half British) and I'm leaving this utopia to head back to the UK to start a graduate job. I'd like to stay here, but I have a english bf so I'm heading back to the UK.

I have a moderate amount of stuff consisting of mainly clothes, so no furniture or anything, and I was wondering if anyone knew or had experiences of any moving/shipping companies? Do you have to supply your own boxes etc?

Kind regards
Meri-Tuuli

Hey Meri,

I'm having a packet sent over in the other direction (Belgium - Finland) with TNT. It's due to arrive somewhere next week.

I'm guessing the procedure is the same: You provide a box (or buy a way too expensive one at the Posti store) and buy a "stamp".

There are different products and different delivery companies, but when I'm returning to Belgium, I'm gonna stick with regular Posti-service.

They offer a few products of which the Economic one seems... well, the most economical one ;).

That should cost you about €35 for 10kg.

More information on the Posti website: http://posti.fi/liitteet/hinnatjamaksut ... 109_EN.pdf

Yes, i'd recommend the posti services too if your shipment isn't too big.
For shipping something bigger check out http://www.travelcargo.fi/ or fineste.fi (smallish company, does shipments within Europe)
