6 months living in Finland

Post by kghp2006 » Sat Mar 21, 2009 10:57 am

So I'm a couple of weeks short of 6 months living here in Finland and I have to say I love it. I never expected it to be like this.
My question to you is how are you enjoying life here?

Very much. This time of year is my favourite, always has been.

Glad you're happy here.

I've been here just over two years now and I'm loving it really. I can't say that it's been easy establishing myself and nurturing/developing business but how many things are and where's the fun if it's a breeze?

This means you haven't experienced the summer yet.......... Then be prepared to be totally "wowed" out!

Keeping silent, and enjoying nobody bothers me by chitchatting.

After just over 9 years, I'm keeping my head down and working hard and hoping that an escape route will present itself. (unlikely in these economically challenging times). A 10% bonus means I'm a darn sight happier today than I was yesterday.

Climate wise, this time of year is certainly better than a couple of months ago, but with the malaise of five !"#¤% months behind us and the lack of green it's hardly my favourite time of year. That would be July when we can escape for a while.

We've got holidays / escapes planned for April, May and July ... now thinking about a May getaway to make use of Vappu which miraculously falls on a Friday this year ... another long weekend away! :P

Just over 2 years for me and I'm content with life for now. There are times when I wish I could take the next flight home, but I can say I've learnt a lot about myself here. At least I don't take the sun for granted anymore! :D
