Price of Footy Tickets in the UK

Post by Bubba Elvis XIV » Mon Mar 30, 2009 8:55 pm

Stupid question...but not being a fan of the game, I really have no idea. But I get asked all the time and being English I must know.

How much does it cost to go to a game in England?

How much are season tickets?

I guess it's different for each team. But some rough numbers would be cool, so I can prtened I is klever.

Most Premiership teams will have different rates for single tickets depending on who's coming to visit. Tickets for "A" games (against the likes of Manure, L'pool, Chelsea, the Arse, and usually one or more of the "local derby" candidates), and "B" tariffs for the remainder.

If you want to see, say, West Ham at home to Liverpool it will cost you according to this list below:

(See the "A" bit)

or if you want to see them walloping Stoke City, it will be the B tariff... on the same page.

Prices vary, depending on which bit of the ground/stands you are in. I picked WHU because they are probably somewhere in the middle, price-wise.

The Tottenham site is maybe a bit better as they tell you the prices AND describe where the seats are...

As you can see, cheap it ain't.

But if you go to any of the sites and click on ticket prices, you can compare notes.

As for season tickets, well, in many cases you have to take a number and wait until Grandad dies, but a Hammers season ticket will cost you between £700 and £900 for an adult.

We do our walloping off the pitch!

Ok, that's great, I'll browse later...I knew it wasn't a single price for every game / team / seat but had no idea of what the price range could be. I guessed the season ticket price to be about 700 - 1,000 and had heard that there's a monster waiting list but I am sure that would depend on the popularity/success of the team as well.

Seen about 5 games on the TV in my life...never been to a match, so have no clue about this.

To be honest I could tell them any old crap adn they wouldnt know anyway..."Ticket?...Tenner, mate...for the month!" :D
