English-speaking babysitter available this summer

Hi everyone,

I'm happy to have found this forum, I've been browsing the various subjects and it is a great resource.

I am a 26-year old Canadian student, and I'll be in Helsinki this summer visiting my girlfriend (who is Finnish) from June to August. I'd like to work in order to stay longer and be able to contribute more to our domestic expenditures. I don't intend on staying on longer than two months, so this is just a temporary, casual thing.

I'd like to propose my services as a babysitter/English-speaking playmate. My ideal employers would be a family that want their kids to learn to love English as a living language - playing, reading, singing, etc. I get along very well with kids, and have two years of experience teaching English as a second language in public school (ages 8-18) and at university. During that time I chaperoned field trips (once with a group of 20 17-year olds in London, if you can imagine), and did my first aid certification. I am fluent in French, so could teach that as well, and I've been learning Finnish for a month or two. I'd be of course very flexible as to hours, my exact role, and compensation. I'm also open to other proposals - I've worked in landscaping before, and as a handyman. Above all I am honest, capable and conscientious.
