It’s directly opposite to the Helsinki Central Railway Station main facade. See these:
- Map/Satellite (Google Maps)
- Image 1 – An aerial photograph of the Helsinki Central Railway Station and Makkaratalo. (Makkaratalo is the building in the top-right corner of the picture with the “SAMPO” sign on its top.)
- Image 2 – An aerial photograph of the Makkaratalo block, with the Makkaratalo building at the bottom of the picture. (Again with the “SAMPO” sign on its top.)

Here’s a fairly good picture of “
the sausage”.
(
A couple of real ones for comparison.)

For our junior, i took the passport photos myself (I had them printed out in a photo shop). In the Helsinki city center there is a booth in the underground tunnel between Sokos and Forum that at least says it generates photos acceptable for all Finnish ID papers, including passports and residence permits. Price is 6€ for four copies.
