Any decent size K-market or S-market has a huge cheese dept where you can buy several different kinds of goat cheeses.

If you mean the Norwegian one (Getost???) then yes, it is in most supermarkets but IIRC there is usually only one kind (the red one???) and it is very expensive.

Yep, it's relatively pricey - perhaps it's only imported with oil barrels (buy one barrel of Norwegian crude oil, get a pack of Geitost for free!) But it's very good... an acquired taste though.

It doesn't come in kg it comes in small blocks.

I've only seen Tine Gudbrandsdalsost here and IIRC it's about €4.25 for a small block (150-200g?).

Never seen SkiQueen (the red one) here though.

According to page 45 of the 'Little Yellow Book'

Soignon Chevre €4.99 450g

was available at Hullut Päivät on wednesday, i'd imagine they're selling it throughout the 4 days?

EDIT: Sorry didn't notice the word BROWN in the OP.
This post is a waste of your time, but thanks for reading this far :D

I've only seen the small block variety (slightly samller than a Rubik's cube)... mind you, SkiQueen used to be "the" brand that was available, maybe 10 years ago or so... haven't spotted it in ages, perhaps it's been replaced by the G. It's a niche market if ever there was any, most of the people I know wouldn't touch the brown Norwegian cheese with a bargepole.

If I'm not wrong it's "technically" not a cheese, since it's made of... whey (had to look up the English word for "hera") instead of curd.

But who cares it's quite delicious!

It's so yummy. Last year some visiting Norwegian friends brought me a huge block of the cheese and ALSO a jar of Akvavit jelly which was not only delicious but also made a great sandwich with the cheese. IIRC they explained that some of the goat cheese is 100% goat and some is 50/50 with sheep's milk (or maybe cows' milk???). Anyway, next time I shop I'll check the price in Prisma. At a GUESS I would say it's well over 20€ per kilo.

There are a lot more varieties of brunost than the pure goat's milk version. All good... though I think I was the only one in our family who liked it as a kid... and even I only buy a few blocks per year.

I should also add that I detest traditional goat and sheep milk cheese like Chevre, though I can put up with the wife's Pecorino if we are out out Parmigiano.
