Trying to be cute with Customs vol. XVII

Post by Pursuivant » Mon Apr 06, 2009 2:03 pm

Well, don't. Today I was picking up an ebay packet that was snagged by the customs. I had my paypal receipt with me and all. So the clerk quite promptly surfed to ebay and checked the item number & winning bid, now that this happened to a number of other people lately no use starting to scream racism and discrimination either. Just a voice of warning if you intend to "fix" your receipts, ain't too bright an idea as then they give you a "being naughty" supplement on top.

Just went over the threshold and had to shell out 12 euros VAT on a pimp jacket... teaches me to go drunk on ebay

Hey, thanks for the heads up! I haven't done that in a while but its really easy to do. It has saved me in the past but I haven't ordered anything that has gone over the limit in quite a long time. But it's good to know that customs is wising up to that so I don't get caught ;)
