registered relationship

Post by vincebel » Mon Apr 06, 2009 5:56 pm

hi all. i am filling the housing allowance paper for kela and id like to know if living with his girlfriend on the same adress means necessarily that we are in a registered relationship?

or to be in a registered relationship we have to fill something special?

or we are in a registered domestic partnership?
thanks

you tick the box with avoliitto... thats the "living together in sin".
the KELA gets the draft of whose registered in the flat, and with boy + girl it usually requires a hell of a lot convincing that you'd be a separate household. if a boy & girl registers something its avioliitto, if a boy+boy or girl+girl registers something then thats a rekisteröity parisuhde.

thats was my guess but since shes a student and im in a finnish language program (in other words unemployment), some people told me that we might both get allowance. anyway ill fill the paper and if its no so its no.
i know now that kela is always right so its useless to try to argue a decision

also we both pay half the rent. and she filled an housing allowance as a student and in the rent box she wrote half the rent (what she pays) but its not the full rent.

but yeah there is only one contrat with both our names

but you can always appeal with a good reason and plead with them to change their decision and it has worked in some cases..

well i got it without any kind of arguments with kela. they just told me that i could have applied before. i live here for 18 months and never heard of that rent allowance...

is there anything else i could claim? just joking. btw i have my first job appointment in a few hours. i hope all my finnish classes will pay and i will not mix everything under stress.
