The language that is missing is the key.

I think most translators in Finland work on a freelance basis. So you set up your own toiminimi and then post yourself on one of the websites that acts as a sort of portal for translation work. I can't imagine why any companies would employ full-time, permanent translators. It is not economical for them. OTOH, if you can cope with IT stuff then maybe some of the telecom companies use translators for internationalisation work (eg Nokia). Some of the language schools (eg AAC Global) also do translation work, but again, my guess is the use freelancers. The embassies usually post certified translators on their webpages too.

I know many translators/linguists in Finland who do freelance translations in their free time and work full-time doing linguistic testing of mobile phones (for example at Lionbridge in Tampere or Flander in Helsinki), or technical writing.
