rippijuhla

Post by r32 » Sun Apr 19, 2009 7:58 pm

Hi there everybody

I would like to know what are the common presents for a boy which has this rippijuhla. I don't know much about this tradition.
Any idea? :)

A nice card - with money inside the envelope. Always appreciated by the recipient :-D

The usual gift is a gold or silver cross in a chain. But that is something parents or godparents usually give. A good book in his interest area is good. Otherwise money. A nice card with a bill. How much depends on how close you are. You find cards in the post office: "Rippilapselle", "Ripillepääsyn kunniaksi" and so on.

I think 50 is enough if you're not related.

And I would say 30 is enough. 50 sounds more like ylioppilaslahja.

I think The God Delusion is enough, if you are not religious :P
