Rent Help?

Post by Flossy1978 » Tue Apr 21, 2009 5:42 pm

If you are looking for a flat and you can only get a private flat for now (city housing takes forever to get into), but the prices of the private flats are very high compared to your salary, will the city help you pay the rent?

I really don't know why the prices are so high in Klaukkala. They're kerrostalot out in the sticks, on the wrong side of Kehä III!!! You can get the same price for flats inside of Kehä III. Yeah I know, so move inside of Kehä IIII somewhere, well I don't want to. My son's life is here. And he'll be close to his Father. It's very important to me. Who cares where I live? I can live anywhere, it's my son who matters.

Does anyone have a link of a cut off rate of what you earn that declares if you can get help or not? 700€ a month for a flat would be getting close to 1/2 of my take home pay. It's too much.

Thanks!

But remember KELA invents an excuse and doesn't pay if your rent is too high.... but they have no answer as to where find flats with such rents. Klaukkala centre? You mean the new houses wiith Sampo pankki or the old ghetto on the hillside after LIDL?

you can also apply for "low income housing " flats from the county that you are in.
One of them is

No, the flat I saw was near the S-Market, opposite it near the bus station. But I didn't take it anyway. It was quite cheap rent, but too small, only 33.5 square metres.

I actually live at the moment out in the metsä, so while I shop in Klaukkala and take my son to daycare there, I don't really have anything to do with the town, so I don't know what the ghetto area is. I know those nice new flats you are talking about near Tarjoustalo though.

I just don't understand how out in Klaukkala rents can be 700euros for just basic flats. The mind boggles.

Thanks everyone.
