I used to be really active here for about 3 years (as you can see from my post count *grin*) but haven't posted as much in the last two years as I started up a photography studio. A lot of Finland Forum members helped me get to this point by volunteering families to portfolio build and I really wanted to give a HUGE thank you to everyone (and for Neil for being such a great guy with this forum and letting me ask for people to photograph) who helped. It was in this "Families in Finland" forum that I was able to meet so many other parents (and even gain a best friend who has a daughter the same age as mine). I wasn't always able to to give perfect portraits in those early days but I learned a LOT with each session.
The culmination of this for me was when KameraLehti asked me to do an exhibition of my work at their gallery in Kamppi, Helsinki. It's been up there for two weeks and been more successful than i could have dreamed. I especially appreciate that old friends from this forum and people whose families I had photographed in the past also came to the opening. It meant a lot.
Thanks again every one of you guys who was so supportive, let me photograph your kids while I was honing my skills, who came to the gallery reception two weeks ago, or who posted kind comments on the pictures I used to post. It means a lot

wow, those pictures are fantastic, do you still need volunteers?
If you wish to convince people of something, it is more useful to be entertaining than to be right

Thanks Maurine. But no, I'm good now. The volunteer requests were from several years ago

Moi
I don't know you, but I felt like dropping a line to you.
I was particularly impressed by your message. Great there are still people who understand when it's good to thank and who are grateful.
I had a look at your site and.. well.. Well done, really. I love those shoots.
I think I might end in your studio one day....
I guess it would be nice for you to take a photoshoot of an exotic.. italian.. girl! Ahahahh just joking!
Good luck with your job!

... I miss Finland ...
