Terhi boat plastic delaminating

Post by Cod » Tue May 12, 2009 8:58 pm

..so, I've been offered a 20yr old 4 metre Terhi motorboat hull where the inside layer of plastic has de laminated from the sandwich foam in the front quarter behind the bow compartment on the floor.

Any takers as to if this is an issue, since my reckoning is that since it's plastic, it can be fixed and since I'm running an underpowered motor on it, 5hp rather than 10 -20 hp, it'll never be an issue (the de lamination could simply be a combo of kids jumping on it and flexing of the bow in waves rather than complete structural failure) :?:

It's on offer from a friend for 600euro.

Whadyareckon :?:

if it's the flat stern boat, you can get them new for a bit over a grand. 4 hw motor for around 800.

20 yr old? Nah, wouldn't pay 100.
Political correctness is the belief that it's possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
