strange carbon filters for stove vent - where to get?
Hi all,
just moved to a new place, and the landlord wants the filters above the stove changed. They look like this:
http://www.piketa.com/index.php?&sivu=3 ... [nr]=13054
I have tried places such as Primsa, etc, but this looks like some older system and I have not been able to find the filters. Well, except for that website I linked to but I would prefer to walk into a store and buy them directly rather than decipher that site and order.
Any ideas of stores that might sell this in central Helsinki?
Sorry about the length of that url... .
Thanks,
interleukin

did a search on "Liesituulettimen suodattimeen aktiivihiili kasetti "
and got konebox.fi ( in Friisila in the old hobby hall place )
Have you tried K-Rauta?
Prisma with a "Rauttakauppa" might have it.
Also Bahaus.

Shouldn't it be the other way round? You want the filters to be changed and the landlord does it??? I'm always confused with the practices herejust moved to a new place, and the landlord wants the filters above the stove changed

Re: strange carbon filters for stove vent - where to get?
I thought so too at first but then started to think about it: I'd equate those filters to light bulbs: both last for thousand(s) of hours but are meant to be changed at some point. But unlike light bulb, using extractor fan without filter either clogs chimney (faster, they should be sweeped like any other chimney anyways) or, if extractor fan is just circulating air in the apartment, distributes the grease all around. So I think that landlord has a point when asking to change the filter as it doesn't cost that much.umit wrote:Shouldn't it be the other way round? Re: strange carbon filters for stove vent - where to get?
Äh, I _almost_ noted that in my post: according to interleukin's link ( www.piketa.com as a shop Lival /Futurum as brand we are looking for) it seems that it might be 6,40e or 9,00e or 5 or 6 times 9,00e. So playing with my odds (2/3) I thought it would be cheap. Of course the reality might be that 90% of those machines use that more expensive solutionMook wrote:Last time I bought one it was around 50 Euros.Upphew wrote: as it doesn't cost that much.

A really greasy carbon filter is a huge fire hazard as well as smelling bad.
Kone Box is in the same building as Budget Sport, opposite Isku. (Take the Länsiväylä to the Suomenoja exit and then follow directions to Olari, Kone Box is on the left. You can't miss it. Free parking under the store). I live (almost) next door. But I have never been inside the store

Re: strange carbon filters for stove vent - where to get?
The cost of the filters is not a big deal, but if i move in a flat I would expect everything clean or new. The landlord would say "OK, I put new filters there and it's your responsibility from now on to change them when necessary and put a new one when you leave"Upphew wrote:I thought so too at first but then started to think about it: I'd equate those filters to light bulbs: both last for thousand(s) of hours but are meant to be changed at some point.
