I handed in my Australian drivers license when i got my Finnish license, and now that i'm leaving, i'd like to get it back. My question is ... after i get my license back, am i allowed to drive for the few days between swapping licenses and leaving the country?

I am pretty sure they'd let you drive. Maybe they would give you some paper or something stating that you can drive with that license. But also, of course they are gonna have on record that you have a Finnish license. I guess the best thing to do is ask them directly 
I just reported my US license lost so I got a new one and don't have to go through the headache of going back to the police station every time I go to the US.
