Some of your kids are probably attending English daycare / preschool. Which books do they use there?

I know my daughter's playschool has books in finnish and english (it is the Finnish-American Playschool). I know some of the english ones they have because I supplied them...

This is very cheeky of me.... I sell children's books in english in Finland!

I have also supplied the local International School with over 300 euros-worth of books in english!

Although I should say that generally, the playschool doesn't teach reading & writing until 6 years old (pre-school), which is a shame, 'cos my LO is gagging to learn more than I can teach her at home! She's 3.

The (English language) primary schools in Espoo are mostly using the "Biff, Chip and Floppy" books (Floppy is the dog) aka the Oxford Reading Tree: http://www.oup.com/oxed/primary/literacy/phonics/

It's a phonics based approach, with fun illustrations and even some dry humour that I often found quite amusing :D

As the previous poster said, I don't think reading is on the agenda in päiväkoti. But if you decide to teach your daughter to read in English at home then go for books using a phonics approach. It is generally what is used in most primary schools in the UK these days.

Actually I am looking more for books for kids who already speak English and just start pre-school.

Those books are the ones used in the UK for kids who already speak English and are starting school.
They are aimed at children who are learning to read in English (they are readers).

Do you mean you are looking for story books that you can read to your child?
